Cornwall Media Focus is looking for a CO-ORDINATOR. Application deadline is 28th July.

CORNWALL FILM ASSISTANT

Part-time, 20 hours per week @ £14,500 pro rata

Initially for a six month contract only.

Cornwall Film is the development agency for Cornwall’s media industry. We focus on sector development, product development and inward investment to provide a comprehensive, integrated environment for media business incubation and development in the region. We are a small team, and are looking for some administrative support.

Cornwall Film Assistant’s role will include:

• Acting as receptionist and PA to the Project Director and Project Co-ordinator
• Organising meetings and taking minutes
• Maintaining effective filing and record-keeping systems and setting up new systems where required
• Maintaining the Cornwall Film website
• Carrying out such research as needed and preparing reports.

We are looking for a self-starter with a keen interest in the film, television and new media industries, a positive attitude, unerring attention to detail and demonstrable administrative skills. You should be computer-friendly, display good team working skills, and have a clear commitment to developing and supporting Cornwall's media industry.

CORNWALL MEDIA FOCUS CO-ORDINATOR


Cornwall Media Focus is looking for a CO-ORDINATOR

This is a freelance full-time post available for 18 weeks from 30th August 2005 to 31st December 2005 at a rate of £500 per week.

Cornwall Media Focus is a membership organisation open to anyone working in film, TV and new media in Cornwall. We aim to facilitate the development of a ‘media cluster’ for Cornwall, enabling our members to develop knowledge, contacts and skills which will help their businesses to compete more effectively. A Steering Group of industry representatives meet monthly to oversee the project’s activities.

The Co-ordinator’s role will be to
• gather sector intelligence for the website and regular e-bulletins, and manage the development and delivery of these resources
• develop and deliver a marketing strategy, grow a diverse membership, and build links with other organisations in the South West
• deliver networking and developmental events and other schemes and activities as agreed by the Steering Group
• research members needs and profiles and monitor skills development
• manage the project budget, gather evidence of match funding, and prepare financial reports
• report regularly to the Steering Group and funders on the project’s progress
• explore funding opportunities for Cornwall Media Focus and work towards the project’s sustainability

Knowledge of the local and national media industry is crucial, as is experience of research, budgets and marketing. Experience of working to a board and familiarity with HTML would be an advantage. You will need your own computer, access to the internet, and your own office/home working space.
